PPublic Relations and Recruitment Chair for the Quinnipiac University Ballroom Society for 2016-2017

Name: Madison Wu

Graduating Class: 2019

Major: Athletic Training/Physical Therapy

Executive Board Position:
Co-President

Short Bio:

When I got into Quinnipiac, I knew I wanted to try something new in regards to dancing.  For the majority of my life, I specialized in more individualistic dance styles such as tap, jazz, ballet, modern, and hip hop in a pre-professional dance company.  Because of this, I wanted to try ballroom when I started college.  It has enhanced my perspective on the dance community and has provided me an outlet for my stress during the best and worst moments of my college life.  I am so appreciative that I had the courage to join Ballroom Society my freshman year.

QBS Treasurer for 2016-2017

Executive Board Position:
Co-President

Short Bio:

I chose to join ballroom because my mom told me that that I would enjoy it. After much debate I decided to come to the first meeting and now I could not imagine my life without it. Ballroom is the place that every Wednesday at 9:30pm I can let myself go and have fun. The friends that I have been able to make are ones that I will keep forever. Learning to dance has helped me to express a new side of myself that I didn’t know existed. Getting to attend events such as competing in a ballroom competition to being in the opening number for the Dancing with the Stars routine have been some of the best parts of my college experience. I would most definitely encourage everyone to try ballroom!

Short Bio:

I came into college with very little dance experience. I was really more interested in theater, but I ended up signing up for ballroom and I absolutely love it. It is really fun to once a week get to relax and dance, and just have a good time with some great people. I really like Cha Cha and Tango. Ballroom has become one of my favorite activities on campus. It is a great experience.

Short Bio:

I joined ballroom in 2017 having no idea how to dance. One year later I love dancing rumba and cha cha! I enjoy unwinding every week to a new dance. I’m super excited to be a part of this year’s EBoard and I hope we all have a great year!

Short Bio:

I went to ballroom one night because my friend recommended it to me. I went on a spur of the moment Wednesday night and absolutely loved it. I expected it to be stuffy and overly professional, but it was so much fun and now I am disappointed whenever I cannot make it. I have made so many friends through this club and love the laughs that we get to have, whether that’s from cheering each other on or laughing from tripping over each other. It’s great to have a place to unwind during the middle of the week and just have fun with a bunch of close friends.
