Name: Nicole Kalish

Graduating Class: 2017

Major: Occupational Therapy

Executive Board Position: Co-President

Short Bio:

Going into freshman year, I didn’t know anything about ballroom dancing. It was the random club I decided to sign up for at the involvement fair because I wanted to try something new and honestly, it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I came to QBS with no prior experience in ballroom dancing and now it is one of my favorite things to do. I look forward to coming to the meetings every week and I enjoy spending time dancing with my best friends. Becoming co-president is an absolute honor and I am so excited to help bring this organization to the best that it can be. I encourage everyone to come and join all the fun we have at QBS!

Graduating Class: 2017

Major: Chemistry

Minor: Management

Executive Board Position: Co-President

Short Bio:

I love dancing! I’ve been dancing since the age of five. I first started ballroom in my sophomore year of high school and I’ve loved it since then. I was really excited to discover that Quinnipiac has a Ballroom Society and of course I joined right away. My favorite dance is the cha-cha and in general I love rhythm dances. If you have any hesitancy about joining QBS, don't! It is a great experience that you can get a lot from!

QBS Treasurer for 2016-2017

Name: Rachel Montesano

Graduating Class: 2019

Major: Nursing

Executive Board Position: Treasurer

Short Bio:

I chose to join ballroom because my mom told me that that I would enjoy it. After much debate I decided to come to the first meeting and now I could not imagine my life without it. Ballroom is the place that every Wednesday at 9:30pm I can let myself go and have fun. The friends that I have been able to make are ones that I will keep forever. Learning to dance has helped me to express a new side of myself that I didn’t know existed. Getting to attend events such as competing in a ballroom competition to being in the opening number for the Dancing with the Stars routine have been some of the best parts of my college experience. I would most definitely encourage everyone to try ballroom!

Name: Allison Parker

Graduating Class: 2018

Major: Occupational Therapy

Executive Board Position: Secretary

Short Bio:

Ballroom has always been something I wanted to try, but had never actually done.  I’ve been taking dance classes since I was five so my schedule just always happened to be full.  However, when I came to QU and failed to make it into another dance group I tried out for, QBS was there waiting for me.  It gave me the opportunity to try something new and I wouldn’t trade it for the world! QBS introduced me to a passion I didn’t know I had and for that I am forever grateful.  I have met so many amazing people through this group and we have become like a family.  My favorite dances are definitely Cha Cha and Foxtrot! If this is something you’ve ever wanted to do, do it!! Any stressful day can be made better by dancing and you definitely won’t regret it!

PPublic Relations and Recruitment Chair for the Quinnipiac University Ballroom Society for 2016-2017

Name: Madison Wu

Graduating Class: 2019

Major: Athletic Training/Physical Therapy

Executive Board Position: Public Relations / Recruitment Chair

Short Bio:

When I got into Quinnipiac, I knew I wanted to try something new in regards to dancing.  For the majority of my life, I specialized in more individualistic dance styles such as tap, jazz, ballet, modern, and hip hop in a pre-professional dance company.  Because of this, I wanted to try ballroom when I started college.  It has enhanced my perspective on the dance community and has provided me an outlet for my stress during the best and worst moments of my college life.  I am so appreciative that I had the courage to join Ballroom Society my freshman year.
