Welcome to the official home of the
Society and Team
The Quinnipiac Ballroom Society is a student organization at Quinnipiac University. We began in 2006 with our Founding President Eric Turcio. Our goal is to provide ballroom dancing instruction to all of our members in hoping that it will enrich each individual’s lives socially. We meet several times a week in a progressive fashion. In doing so, we are pushing for each person to move up in level of difficulty: newbie, bronze, silver, gold.
QBS Masquerade Ball 2012
We offer dance instruction in both the Latin and Smooth divisions of the NDCA Syllabus. Some of the dances we teach are Salsa, East Coast Swing, Cha Cha, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Tango and Foxtrot. All dances are broken down to teach from beginners to more advanced dancers. We also have dance coaches Karen Pfrommer and Alex Scott from “Dance in Rhythm” that come in from time to time to help us become amazing dancers as well. We would love for you to read the Executive and Advisory Boards’ biographies to learn about whom they are and their experiences with QBS. It will help you get a better understanding of what the organization has to offer.
QBS 2012 - our graduating seniors
There are a lot of great benefits from joining including learning a style of dance that you can use basically anywhere! You will always meet new people and walk into the welcoming arms of the returning members of QBS. Best part of it all is that not only are we the only dance team to not hold try-outs on campus, but you do not need to have any sort of dancing background to join! It’s that easy.
By all means, email us now or use the link at the top of the page if you have any questions for us or if you’re even interested in sitting in one of our practices!
